After the release of their victorious second album ‘Future Dust’ in the former part of 2019, The Amazons have now released visuals to accompany their track ’25’, directed by Thomas James. Watch the video here.

‘25’ boasts drums inspired by the likes of Iggy Pop’s ‘Lust for Life’ and encompasses the idea frontman Matt Thomson created and penned down on the trials and tribulations of being 25. When speaking about the track, Matt said “I wrote 25 two months before I turned 25, to try to work out where I am in life. The song mimics the confusion that I constantly feel, that everyone my age feels. Are we all narcissists or are we really switched on?”

The video itself finds powerful imagery in the form of red hues and dark contrast, with the band being at the forefront throughout. A series of clips behind create a chaotic energy which work in synergy with the idea of being 25 and the confusion that comes with it.

In 2017, The Amazons were the most hotly tipped band after the release of their self-titled debut album which reached heights of #8 in the official chart. The release of ‘Future Dust’ in 2019 then lead to two prominent singles ‘Doubt It’ and ‘Mother’ hitting the Radio 1 playlist. ‘Future Dust’ gave The Amazons another top 10 album to add to their line of successes. The band are adding another string to their bow with their headline tour across the UK later this year; the tour will conclude at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on 22nd November.
