Winners of the ground breaking Prodigies Programme announced and to receive support from teams behind Liam Gallagher, Libertines, Charli XCX and more

4 talented acts from Sheffield, Liverpool, Dudley and Swindon have won this year’s coveted grassroots competition from Pirate Studios to win industry mentoring, unlimited rehearsal and recording time, festival slots and more.

The winners are indie stars in the making The Seamonsters, a Sheffield based 6 piece teenage girl band; Red Rum Club, Merseyside care workers, taking the UK by storm with their unique mariachi inspired indie-rock; Burgeoning songsmith; Alex Ohm, a primary school teacher from the small historic village of Gornal Wood; and Yves, the explosive Swindon 3 piece, who have grown a UK fan base with their grafting DIY approach, amassing over 1 million Spotify plays.

The project is steered by a team of industry mentors including artist managers, agents, promoters, publishers, PR and radio experts aiming to support new British talent including chart hit-makers Kate Nash, Jon McClure (Reverend & the Makers) and the teams behind Liam Gallagher, Charli XCX, Tom Grennan & The Libertines.

What makes the Pirate Prodigy programme different is Pirate Studios’ ethos of being on the artist’s side, waiving the rights to any ownership of the winners and their material. Together with the team of all-star industry mentors they will be concentrating on accelerating the careers of the 4 winners over the next 12 months, starting with featured slots at this year’s Isle of Wight festival. What Pirate Studios is doing for bands at the grassroots level, it’s absolute fantastic and we are looking forward to seeing these 4 acts develop under the tutelage of some of the biggest names in the music industry.

The winners will be performing at 3 showcase events in London 7th June, Liverpool 8th June and Bristol – 9th June. Click here to apply for FREE TICKETS
