Arcade Fire reveal new single and release fifth album details

Last night, Arcade Fire announced their new single ‘Everything Now’, released details surrounding their fifth record and played a surprise show in Barcelona, ahead of their headline set at Primavera Sound festival.

‘Everything Now’ – a poppy step in a new direction for Arcade Fire – also lends its name to the bands forthcoming album.  Everything Now, which has been produced by Arcade Fire themselves, Pulp’s Steve Mackey and Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, is set to be available for purchase from 28 July 2017.  Everything Now is the follow-up Arcade Fire’s latest studio album, Reflektor (2013).

The thirteen-track LP, which was recorded in Montreal, New Orleans and Paris, is said to be being released via Columbia.  The record label in question has just signed Arcade Fire on a two-album contract deal, which marks the ending of a relationship between the band and Merge Records.

If you didn’t manage to catch the group’s secret set in a Barcelona car park yesterday (June 1), where they performed their new single alongside another new song, titled ‘Creature Comfort’, they are set to play a handful of shows across the UK in the next couple months. See below for Arcade Fire UK tour dates.
