BBC Sound Of 2018 unleashes it’s longlist

The longlist for the BBC Sound Of 2018 has been revealed, featuring a staggering fourteen solo artists and two bands – including Pale Waves, Jade Bird and Rex Orange County.

The BBC Sound Of… longlist usually predicts who will be in charge of providing the soundtrack to the forthcoming year.  Previous winners of the Sound Of list include: HAIM and Ellie Goulding, while other notable mentions include: Florence + The Machine, Chvrches and Lady Gaga.

This year’s list might not be the most outlandish and definitely has a large stripe of pop coursing through it, but some of these artists could find themselves wangling their way into your heart extremely soon.

The likes of Pale Waves have already hit the big time – by being championed by giants The 1975 – while fifteen-year-old Billie Eilish should be championed for making this fantastic achievement a reality at such a young age.

Elsewhere on the list you can find a Korean-American house music enthusiast (Yaeji), golden Geordie boy, Sam Fender (whom Gigslutz were onto way back in 2014) and Helsinki hell raiser Alma.
