Beacons Festival – Gigslutz preview

Still in its infancy, Beacons Festival is returning for the second year to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales with a dangerously cool line-up of ‘next big things’ and Gigslutz will be there to bring you the verdict.

The Eat Your Own Ears event has been compared to older sibling Field Day, minus the London/‘hipster’ guest list, ultimately making for a weekend of indie indulgence.

Currently offering weekend tickets for a mere £99.50 the humble festival is comparatively cheap in an ever-expensive field.

Amongst Friday’s artists is the magnetic Ghostpoet, hypnotising waves from Bonobo and the up and coming Dan Croll

Psychedelic revivalists Temples will inevitably have their audience feeling like they have been taken back in time during Saturdays festivities. Other bands playing include Stealing Sheep, who supported The Postal Service in their London gigs earlier this year, and the electric Findlay.

Rounding up the festival on Sunday are Django Django, Splashh, a DJ set from the slinky SBTRKT and post-punk female quartet Savages, you would be stupid to miss it. With a capacity of jus 2500 the event is set to be an intimate, memorable affair, perhaps the beginnings of something very special.
