The Charlatans announce new album ‘Different Days’

The Charlatans have revealed the details of their 13th album, Different Days.

They’re set to release Different Days on May 26 via BMG. It was self-produced by The Charlatans in their studio in Crewe, and features contributions from an array of friends.

Pete Salisbury, former Verve drummer took over the beats after the passing of founding drummer Jon Brookes in 2013. Brian Jonestown Massacre’s Anton Newcombe was sent an early version of ‘Not Forgotten’ and sent back his thoughts in just 15 minutes. Johnny Marr was due to stay for an hour, but stayed for five and now features on three tracks.

Stephen Morris, of New Order, helped out with ‘Modern Nature, but also extended his role with seven tracks of drumming and programming. Crime writer Ian Rankin and Kurt Wagner offer spoken word contributions, and writer/actress Sharon Horgan sang some backing vocals.

Last but not least, Paul Weller also gave hand and teamed up with The Charlatans for the album finale ‘Spinning Out’.

The album will be available on vinyl, CD, cassette and limited edition clear 12″ vinyl and download. It is available to pre-order here.
