Discovery of the Week: King No-One

York based indie-rockers King No-One are back with a bang with new single ‘Stay Close’. A great track record so far sees previous singles hyped by Huw Stephens and others at 6 Music and Radio X. The five piece have been producing catchy choruses and slick riffs for a couple of years now, but it sounds like they were born to do it.

‘Stay Close’ boasts delicate whirring samples spinning beneath clashing cymbals, all combined within a jaunty guitar melody to create an intimate feel in what is a very accessible and free-spirited track. The video sees the boys get theatrical, and impressive scenes of dance and drama really help bring the song to life.

With plenty of upcoming gigs and festival announcements such as Live At Leeds rolling in, it’s set to be a brilliant year for King No-One. Head to their Facebook to find out more.

‘Stay Close’ is out 18 March.
