Discoveries come at different times for different people. Yes, you knew the Arctic Monkeys in 2005 but your dad probably heard AM last week and thinks it’s the new age of music. Luckily, here at Gigslutz, we like to keep a bit more up to date than that, and double check that you’re hearing the best new bands when they release new tracks. That’s the case for this week’s discovery: Pixel Fix.
Pixel Fix are a band of boys hailing from Oxford who’ve been impressing music fans and professionals alike for a year or two now. I first saw Pixel Fix support Jaws in Manchester in 2013 and since then, the young gents have not stopped touring and spreading their ambient electro.
Tracks like ‘Rose’ and ‘Fall’ initially made me fall (geddit?) for Pixel Fix, and maybe brand new single ‘I Want You The Same’ might do the same for you… It’s another banger of equal brilliance; intricate guitar melodies and Marcus’ soft and rhythmic vocal perfect the track’s chilled vibe.
Pixel Fix’s unique sound is one to fully love and appreciate. They’re in such demand in fact, that their show at London’s Waiting Room sold out in three days, meaning they’ve added another at The Barfly!
