Discovery Of The Week: Zoey Lily

Zoey Lily may only be nineteen years old, but she’s already lived a remarkable rock and roll lifestyle. Raised by a Parisian fashion designer and a prolific live music agent, Zoey was on the road with Van Morrison as an unborn baby, and as a young child she enjoyed the company of both Jimmy Cliff and Joss Stone.

Zoey began exploring her own musical talent at the age of thirteen, writing poems and songs before learning how to play guitar. She describes her song-writing process as a solitary experience “sparked by late night moments of melancholy”, which led the singer to coin her own musical style: “melo-noir”.

Her debut single ‘Edges’ racked up 5k plays on SoundCloud, and she’s due to release her first EP, Reckless Minds later this year. Her delicate, tender vocals glide over polished electronic sounds, produced by James Kenosha (Rhodes, Dry The River).

Zoey currently lives in London, where she’s honing her talent and working on new music. Listen to ‘Edges’ below, and keep an eye out for Zoey Lily’s future releases.
