Elder Island announce 2021 tour dates with short documentary film

The Bristol based tech-pop trio Elder Island have just announced a string of dates in 2021. Like all live performers this year, their plans have changed due to Covid but their excited to get back out playing in 2021 and have announced these dates alongside a beautifully shot mini film in collaboration with director Nic Kane, who has documented the band’s 2019 Omnitone Tour, centring the visual around life on the road and highlighting key sold out shows such as London’s Roundhouse and Bristol’s Marble Factory.

The visual is an intimate insight into the inner workings of Elder Island and their hands-on approach to touring. Snippets of cine film and VHS sit alongside digital footage capturing moments of travel, show preparations and live performance – giving fans a glimpse into Elder Island’s intricate set up in action. Watch it here:

In light of the current absence of touring music, there is an added poignancy to this short film, which now also acts as a thank you to fans, as it celebrates the two-way street that is the relationship between an audience and musicians as vocalist Katy explains:

“Live music will continue to bring us together no matter the obstacles. It seems a strange time to be announcing a tour but by supporting us now you make it possible for live shows to go ahead next year. Fate may intervene and dates may change (tickets will be refunded or allocated to new dates), but a ticket stands for one hot night of music and we intend to make it happen. See you there 2021 x”
