EP: Vida ‘Masquerade’

We’re currently in a time where indie rock music is selling out stadiums whilst simultaneously becoming blander. The one thing were crying out for is some new home-grown, proper indie guitar bands, that’s where Alloa’s Vida come in. With their last track, ‘Fade Away’, close to passing 100,000 listens on Spotify we are expecting big things from this next release.

I was made aware of Vida a month or so ago, and after hearing their new EP ‘Masquerade’, due for release on the 1st November, I was struck by the rawness of their sound. Raw is often a word banded around to actually just mean new, but these tunes, especially ‘When I Call’, present consuming behind  sneering vocals reminiscent of early work from The Verve.

Having recently unveiled some of the songs at a This Felling gig supporting The Shimmer Band at Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge, they now have appearances lined up at some of the most exciting new venues around, most notably when they return to Scotland to play King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. If you get chance to go along to any of their shows we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Full tour dates:

5th November – King Tuts Wah Wah Hut – Glasgow
12th November – The Washington – Sheffield
3rd December – The Windsor – Kirkcaldy
10th December – The Castle Hotel – Manchester

VIDA – MASQUERADE will be released 01.11.2016.
