EVENT: Pitched Up, Dalston 06.08.15

If you don’t know about Dalston’s number one club night Pitched Up yet, where have you been!?

Started by BBC Radio 1 DJ Target and UK production legend Danny Weed, Pitched Up showcases some of the best musical talent the UK has to offer. Whether it’s DJ’s, rappers, vocalists or MC’s, all are welcome on the stage at Birthdays in Dalston and with acts such as Section Boyz, Ghetts, Melissa Steel and Oxide & Neutrino having graced the event since it’s birth, all future acts have a lot to live up to.

July’s event was postponed due to the London Tube strike and unfortunately, the August event is also falling on a day of TFL industrial action, however that won’t stop revellers heading out in huge numbers as as they do every month, continuing to make Pitched Up THE monthly event to get to.pu

As for the line up, prepare for some classic, gritty grime selections on the decks from Sir Spyro, rapid bars from the likes of Double S and Lady Leshurr, souldful vocal perfection from Kieran Alleyne and Akelle Charles as well as a dancefloor filling set of house and garage bangers from DJ SKT.

But if that line up wasn’t enough to help you make your mind up about attending, then let us tell you the guys have arranged for a secret special guest to come down and perform. With absolutely no info as to who the guest is, you need to make sure you’re inside the place so that you’re the first to find out. With a number of high profile secret shows in London over the last couple of months, don’t be surprised if Drake & Skepta turn up to perform an exclusive collaboration!

We spoke to Target about Pitched Up last month – find out what he had to say about in our interview below…
