EXCLUSIVE: State of Play premiere brand new track ‘What It Is To Be’

We are always excited about bringing you the latest and gretaest new tunes and it is our absolute pleasure to be able to exclusively debut a brand new track from London band State of Play which is called ‘What It Is To Be‘.

The track is the first to be taken from the band’s forthcoming EP and discusses the rise of human kind, from basic creatures to the technologically advanced species that the we find ourselves part of today. Musically, the track embraces elements from rock and hip-hop, with the chilled, minimal early sections growing into the driving, guitar-led anthem that this track ends up being.

Rapper A-Mens’ verses lay down the story whilst singer Missy McAnulty fuses the differing genres together with her melodic vocals. With a sound that sits somewhere between Linkin Park and Rage Against The Machine, but remains uniquely their own, State of Play have provided a brilliant first look into their previously mentioned forthcoming EP.

With the wait for that set to be quite a short one, we are eagerly anticipating our next look at what else State of Play can offer. To stay up to date with all the latest from the band, including that all important release date on their EP, make sure you follow them on Twitter and Facebook.
