The Family Rain LIVE @ Strawberry Fields Festival 09/08/14

Bath brothers literally do bring the rain... and fantastic music.

Stepping out onto the gloriously muddy main stage, as a part of a big line up on the muggy Saturday night was Bath brothers The Family Rain. So far this summer The Family Rain have taken over many small English festivals as well as larger European slots. They have definitely kept the momentum of summer flowing with a stellar set at Strawberry Fields.

Even though their set was almost rained off, The Family Rain (fitting name at this point) took to the stage. It was obvious to see that their set list would consist of songs to dance to with drinks in hands, perfect for a festival evening, as people were willing to brave the storm and dance back outside. They quickly turned a field into a pub and a main stage into a corner of blocks just higher than the floor, to stand on. Within a few songs, all scale seemed to have been lost and as people gathered nearer and nearer the front, they began to bounce along.

The Family Rain really did shake off the grey skies, especially with “Binocular” and new tune from their current EP (Hunger Sauce) ‘You Should Be Glad You’ve Got A Man’. These two were a real highlight; openly seeing enjoyment on stage resonating back into the audience, sending them into a clapping trance. These brothers are definitely a festival band, and have that gift of making grass into a dance floor.
