Liverpudlian Howie Payne is the ex-Stands frontman whose band burnt brightly but briefly during their short lifespan; 4 top 40 UK singles, 2 Glastonbury’s, 2 albums (1 top 20) one of which featured Noel Gallagher, and then they were gone.

Thankfully, Howie returned last year with a brilliant debut solo album ‘The Brightest Star’ quickly followed up with 2nd album ‘Mountain’.  ‘Evangeline’ (California Mix) is a re-working of the stand out from that album’, a track and album that wears its sun kissed 70s Americana/West Coast influences without feeling dated.
