This Feeling Track of the Day : The Novatones ‘Why Don’t You Listen to Me?’

The Novatones are a Britpop tinged indie band formed in Southampton. Originally forming as an outlet for tracks they wrote in their spare time, not pushing for anything, the band started to gain notoriety around the local area when their music caught the ear of music industry legend John Giddings who invited the band to play the Isle of Wight festival 2014. The band have been back again since, playing to huge crowds, drawing the biggest crowds for the respective stages they played.

Speaking about the in your face, hook-heavy track front man Ant said, “We wrote the song in anger with the music industry, so we decided to jam and it just came out. We wanted to make a song that almost mocks itself in the form of a classic pop formula. Our usual music isn’t at all like ‘Why Don’t You Listen To Me?’, it’s quite wide in variety although our main theme is every song has a true story behind it.”
