A Brief History: A proudly independent festival that started in 2009 consisting of handwritten tickets has blossomed into a 60,000 strong army of attendees to one of the best festivals in the UK. Blending an eclectic mix of underground and global music including reggae, world music, folk, jazz, ska, hip hop, drum and bass, techno, house, disco, jungle, psytrance (the list goes on…) along with a focus on boundary-pushing immersive art, theatre and performance. All of which comes together as a living, breathing, fictitious city.

How To Get There: Buses run from numerous cities across the UK, bookable https://ww2.theticketsellers.co.uk/boomtown-2019-10047798/ also can get the train, with shuttles running from the nearest train station, Winchester or drive and purchase a car parking pass.

Gigslutz Top Tip: Get involved with the storyline of the city, the city that is a world within a world, with legends breathing history into the city’s streets. Each chapter encounters a new story, characters to discover and adventures to be had.

To truly understand the multilayered experience of Boomtown, turn to Chapter One and join them on a journey of honour and bravery; treachery and betrayal; power and greed; political progress and noble causes. Meet heroes and heroines, villains and crooks and all the colourful characters and eccentric oddities whose stories are waiting to be told…

Become your inner character – Be a part of the story.

Memorable Moments: The Boomtown Finale of 2014 at the Arcadia stage- an immersive mix of fire performers, crawling stages and banging drum and bass.

Did You Know? Boomtown offer ‘Boomtown Bike Rides’ from Bristol and London to arrive to the festival- a two day journey with an overnight stop which is both an incredibly awesome way to arrive at a festival but also great for the planet.
