Brief History: Although this summer will only mark the festival’s sixth birthday, Gov Ball (as it has been affectionately coined) is an unmissable part of the North American festival circuit.

Last year, The New York Times professed the festival to be “ruled by women” due to the likes of Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent and many others giving the stand-out, most noteworthy performances of the weekend despite being vastly outnumbered by the men holding the headline spots.
