A Brief History: Back for its fifth year, Visions Festival returns to East London this August with a stellar line up! Taking place across different warehouse venues, arts spaces and churches in London Fields, Visions promotes an array of new music, as well as a host of craft beers and street food stalls.

How To Get There: Depending on which venue you’re heading to, Visions Festival is accessible from London Fields train station, or a number of buses including the 106, 55 and 277. The nearest underground station is Bethnal Green on the Central Line.

Gigslutz Top Tip: With the line-up being full of absolutely fantastic new bands and artists, it’s hard to single any out as top tips. However, having seen Jenny Hval’s immersive live set before, I’d highly recommend checking her out – it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before! The raw, scuzzy sounds of Goat Girl and the glitchy sonic delights of Noga Erez are also firm favourites here at Gigslutz HQ.

Memorable Moments: Back in 2015, everyone’s favourite Spanish band Hinds blasted out their uptempo garage rock to a sweltering Oval Space, followed by an incredible, vibrant set from Brooklyn’s Shamir that got the whole of East London grooving together.

What We Said Last Year: In addition to Dream Wife completely blowing us away with their powerful set, Let’s Eat Grandma wowed with their ethereal splendour and we fell in love with Bleached’s grunge-fuelled energy. Read our review here.

Did You Know? Last year, Visions Festival hosted their first ever Dog Show! And this year, in addition to this and a range of extra events, they’ll be a record and zine fair and some punk-rock karaoke fun to be had!
