Gigslutz Urban are looking for contributors! Fancy joining us?

Are you passionate about urban music? Love Grime/Hip Hop/R&B etc? Do you know your Skepta from your Sir Spyro? If so, we need you!

We’re looking for contibutors to support our ever growing Urban section. With access to live events, brand new music and even interviews with some of the biggest rappers, singers, producers and DJ’s from both the UK and the US, this is perfect for someone who loves music and is looking to have a career in the industry. Check out who we caught up with at the Rated Awards this year…

You don’t need any writing experience, although some sort of grasp of the English language will help, and can be based anywhere in the UK, or even the world (ahh the wonders of the internet!). We’re not demanding at all and are happy for you to fit in your writing around general life. We’re also happy for you to write about the content that you like/listen to, although we will send you a few pieces of brand new music to cover every now and again.

If there’s an event you want to go to, from Eskimo Dance to Krept & Konan at the O2 Academy, just let us know and 9 times out of 10 we’ll be able to get you in. All you have to do is write a little review and you get to go for FREE – sounds good right!? As our contributor positions are voluntary, we don’t offer a salary, but the experience you’ll gain working for a respected and fast growing platform will be priceless.

So if you’re interested or have any questions, drop our Urban Music Editor Matt Tarr an email at mattgigslutz@gmail.com and get on your way to becoming part of our brilliant team.

Matt Tarr

Urban Music Editor
With grime and hip hop being major influences on him growing up in South East London, Matt's passion is urban music but over the years he has gathered a hugely diverse taste, ranging from Wiley to The Smiths by way of Machine Head, that has made him a very open minded individual.
