Good Health Good Wealth are a London based duo made up of vocalist, producer and songwriter Bruce Breakey along with guitarist and producer Simon Kuzmickas, who’s earliest musical memories stemmed from travelling with his dad to a post-soviet era underground pirate CD market in his home country of Lithuania.

Growing in popularity, they have recently sold-out a London headline show at The Social and are now set to play their first international gig on the This Feeling / Radio X stage at Viva Sounds in Gothenburg on 30th November. They have just completed an extensive UK tour Noisy and have recently announced their next London headline show at The Lower Third on 7th February 2025.

Drawing on eclectic influences like N.E.R.D., Daft Punk, Kanye West, The Streets and Mac Miller, Good Wealth’s sound has evolved and broken away from genre conventions over the course of two EPs, ‘RICH’ and last year’s ‘Everyone Feels Like This’.

Their new single ‘Full Circle’ which was solely written and produced by the band, has certainly captured the imagination of many and has recently received its first play courtesy of John Kennedy at Radio X.

We catch up with them for chat.

Q: Firstly, congratulations on your latest single ‘Full Circle’. Talk us through the story telling on the track.

A: Exactly what it says on the tin really Jon, I wrote it on a day off. I needed to get some new jeans as I’d worn mine out, so I walked down to Upper Street Chicken shop for lunch and had a swift pint in the Sports Bar & Grill. It is often on these days where I’m left to my own devices that I ponder all of life’s complexities, and often when I get inspired to write something down.

Q: There is a lovely 90s inspired dance loop on the track. How important is this genre in Good Health Good Wealth overall sound?

A: As important as all the other 90s stuff that we grew up with, it’s what we were raised around so it’s inadvertently going to play a part in what we do. We’re inspired by lots of different genres though so don’t be surprised if in a few years we bring out a full Hip-Hop album.

Q: In the track you mentioned, been raised on McDonalds. So, with that said, what is your go to meal from the golden arches then?!

A: To quote the song we used to get a free burger when we parked in the town centre, so with that in mind, a large Big Mac meal, coke and the free burger would always be the misunderstood filet-o-fish and I’d dip the chips in the tartare sauce. Have never met anyone else who’s done that other than me and my old man.

Q: Tell us a bit about how the two of you originally crossed paths, connected musically, and became the duo that is Good Health Good Wealth?

A: Two chaps that were born in Newham General hospital and The Red Cross in Vilnius Lithuania. 20 odd years later they crossed paths in the pub and haven’t looked back since.

Q: Having listened to your back catalogue, there is quiet a diverse array of sounding tracks, from more guitar driven elements, through to funk/disco and dance inspired offerings. Talk us through your musical influences and how as a duo you took the route musically that you did?

A: We started off as a punk band because it was the easiest musical starting point for us as a couple of blokes who had never been in a band before, it also captured our attitude towards the world at that time as a couple of young lads. As we have grown older the variation in the sound has come organically as we’re always introducing each other to different things, different artists, films etc. Working with Richard Archer pulled things one way, working during lockdown pulled things another. It has all been a journey of discovery musically and I can’t imagine it will stop anytime soon as there’s always new things to find.

Q: You did the track Black Stiletto with The Skinner Brothers. How did that come about?

A: He slid in our DMs, that guy does not stop working! Fair play to him.

Q: With two EP’s and a handful of singles released so far, is an album on the horizon? And is so, when can we expect that to drop?

A: We are working on an album now conceptually getting tracks together, it’s a little way away still. We want to show people more what GHGW is about with one more EP to finish off the trilogy and then it is album time.

Q: In an ideal world how does the future look and what is tucked up your sleeve of Good Health Good Wealth?

A: This time next year we’ll be millionaires
