Introducing Interview: HVMM

With their ferocious brand of raw garage rock and distinct, inspired swagger, Worcester band HVMM are set to blast into your eardrums with the upcoming release of their debut EP Talk To Me Like I’m Dead.

We caught up with the band to find out more…

Hey HVMM, welcome to Gigslutz! Can you please introduce yourselves to our readers?
Hello! We are Andy on vocals, Ebony on guitar, Jack on bass and Sam on drums.

Can you tell us about your debut EP Talk To Me Like I’m Dead?
It was produced by Alberto De Icaza (lovely guy). It’s is out on the 1 September via ILA Records and has six tracks on it. It sets a standard for us to do better than that going forward!

What would you say is your favourite track on the EP?
Tough one, personally… ‘Millie’s Going To Town’.

Your single ‘Lacerate’ is pretty fiery! What’s it all about?
Imagine constantly being on the edge of a orgasm but with no end result… !

Who would you say are your biggest influences?
Between the four of us they differ a fair bit, but we all have Led Zep in common.

If you could collaborate with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
That’s difficult and again would differ between us. Today, I would have to say Tom Waits.

You’ve just played Tramlines festival, have you got any other live dates coming up?
We have a few big shows coming up: our EP launch on the 2nd September in Worcester, Hackney Wonderland on 14th October and our first London headline show at the Sebright Arms on 22nd November!

How would you describe the music scene in Worcester?
Worcestershire as a county is defiantly producing some great music!

Huge thanks to HVMM for answering our questions!

Talk To Me Like I’m Dead, the upcoming EP from HVMM, is out 1 September via ILA Records.
