Acclaimed North Shields-based singer-songwriter Liam Fender is set to electrify Newcastle’s Boiler Shop this Sunday with a collaboration featuring the dynamic Voices of Virtue gospel choir.
Liam’s biggest ever gig promises to enthral audiences, blending Fender’s striking melodies with the choir’s rich harmonies, offering a groundbreaking live music experience for the region. To account for the England Euros final, the event will now take place between 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM, and not the evening, as The Three Lions hope to claim victory.
The change in time does not affect customer orders, and all tickets remain valid.
Growing up next to the iconic St. James’s Park, Fender discovered his musical passion early on, even as he realised a sports career wasn’t on the cards. His musical journey began with an ‘Alba Ghetto Blaster,’ evolving into a career that now marks him as one of the North East’s brightest talents. From his humble beginnings to delivering soulful performances on major stages, Fender’s artistic evolution has been truly remarkable.
Joining him in this groundbreaking project is the Voices of Virtue gospel choir, a collective known for their emotive sound and captivating performances that have left audiences spellbound across the region.
Led by visionary concert promoter Paul James, who helms the NorthEastFUSE project that brings together disparate cultural artists for special one-off collaborative concerts, Voices of Virtue have earned a reputation for excellence, filling venues with their powerful harmonies and soul-stirring music.
Speaking about the collaboration, Fender shared his excitement, stating: “It’s been a really good start, the project has had a great response so far. Everything I write comes from a real place so I guess people connect to that. Live-wise, I think the synergy between the band really pulls people in. It’s seven guys really in the moment and loving what we’re doing.”
The union of Fender and Voices of Virtue marks a significant milestone in the North East’s musical landscape. Drawing on Fender’s poignant lyrics and melodious compositions inspired by the unique people and places of Tyneside, coupled with the choir’s powerful vocals and infectious energy, the collaboration promises to deliver an electrifying performance unlike any other. As Fender himself puts it: “It’s the perfect marriage of heartfelt songwriting and soul-stirring gospel music.”
Reflecting on the project, James shared his excitement, stating: “Combining Liam’s songs with this incredible choir will produce one of the most exceptional performances of the year. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and the magic that happens when artists from different backgrounds come together to create something truly special.”
Adding to his earlier thoughts, Fender remarked: “This collaboration is not just about bringing two musical acts together; it’s about merging our stories, our passions, and our sounds to create a shared experience. It’s going to be a great night.”
The upcoming show promises to be a highlight of the musical calendar, with Fender and Voices of Virtue delivering an electrifying performance that pushes boundaries and transcends genres. Liam added: “This will be our biggest show to date. Voices of Virtue are at the very top of their game and to hear that huge sound filling the room is definitely something I can’t wait for.”
Don’t miss the chance to witness this groundbreaking collaboration as Liam Fender and Voices of Virtue take the stage together for an unforgettable evening of music and celebration.
