LISTEN: Dead Pretties – ‘Confidence’

Amongst the flash of up and coming new bands, we catch a glimpse and a flicker of three scruffy teens from North London. But this isn’t just a glimmer, Dead Pretties have shown they’re keen for more of a highly-devoted blaze into the scene with raucous, regular shows at Brixton Windmill, support slots with Drenge, The Orwells and HMLTD as well as a knighthood as the ‘deranged’ newcomers offering a ‘crazed, communal experience’ by critics at NME and DIY.

Following on from their debut single ‘Social Experiment’ comes ‘Confidence’, a hallowed, thriving rock track bellowing the band’s commitment to their art, whilst also setting the tone for their debut headline tour.

Their unadulterated pledge to the falseness of the bourgeoisie is followed through with frontman Jacob Slater speaking about the single – “people have become addicted to wanting to know more about the Kardashians of the World.” Despite their welcome opposition to the sheen of celebrity media, this band could really break the internet with their exhilarating, exciting burst onto the music scene, which is fast picking up the pace since the band’s chance, shoeless acid-trip meeting lead to the birth of Dead Pretties.
