LISTEN: DELS shares new track ‘RGB’

DELS – ‘Petals Have Fallen’

“Drip, drip, dripping all these colours of my mind, let the colours just drip” is the hypnotic chorus that fires from the lips of UK rapper DELS on ‘RGB’, the first single to be shared from his upcoming album Petals Have Fallen.

The track, produced by the hugely talented collaborative team of Kwes and Micachu, features a host of electronic distortion over a hip-hop beat creating a unique sound that provides the perfect backing to DELS’ clever and witty raps, with lyrics such as “I’m tryna eat more than spag-bol for tea / get left in the graveyard for have-been mc’s / where they form cover bands, perform classic LP’s / much to the despair of the audience as So Solid’s Harvey sings along to accordion”.

With his album due for release on Big Dada in November, DELS said,

“I met most of the artists and producers that contributed to this album on MySpace back in 2005, We had a page called ‘Loners, where myself and the likes of Kwes, Micachu, Ghostpoet, Sampha, Coby Sey, Elan Tamara were all featured – way before anybody knew who we were. We always said that we’d do a proper album together eventually. Petals Have Fallen is probably the closest thing to that collaborative album happening to date”
