LISTEN: DJ Cameo recruits three MC’s for ‘Aiight’ Xlantic Refix featuring Rick Ross

Back towards the end of 2014, US rapper Gunplay teamed up with Maybach Music mogul Rick Ross for the trap-heavy banger ‘Aiight’. With a gritty hood video and street sound it epitomised the gangster vibe that is rife throughout US Hip Hop music of the current age. Fast forward to 2015 though and something very special has happened.

BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Cameo has brought together three hugely talented UK MC’s in the form of Saskilla, Maxsta and Scrufizzer to feature on his Darq E Freaker produced ‘Xlantic refix’ of the previously mentioned Gunplay track ‘Aiight’. With a much more upbeat vibe and way more energy than the original, this refix is a definite track not to be missed.

Whilst Saskilla brings his usual hard-hitting, ferocious flow, a definite highlight of the track is hearing Maxsta and Scrufizzer going back to back in true grime fashion and something that we’ll hopefully be hearing more of in the future. The intensity that all three MC’s have brought to the track is superb and with Charlie Sloth premiering the track on his radio show, it’s time for everyone to start taking notice.
