LISTEN: The Killers reveal new Christmas song ‘Joel, The Lump Of Coal’

The Killers have revealed a Christmas single, titled ‘Joel The Lump Of Coal’. Check out the video of the track below.

This is the the ninth consecutive year the Las Vegas band have released a Christmas song and the track was recorded with American TV host Jimmy Kimmel. It is released in support of the AIDS charity RED.

Speaking to NME about the track, frontman Brandon Flowers said: “We watched Back To The Future in Soho in London one night. And of course doused in Huey Lewis. It made me think how much we loved his voice growing up. Somehow, along the way, Huey lost his involvement. Jimmy had this idea of a lump of coal who goes to a bad kid and gives up his life and becomes a diamond. It’s kind of genius that it hasn’t been used.”
