LISTEN: Seasick Steve shares first song from album ‘Can U Cook?’

Seasick Steve has released a brand new single ‘Can U Cook?’ in preparation for his forthcoming ninth studio album with the same title. This return presents a similar sound to his previous work with dirty guitars, big drums and growling voice all worked within his familiar groove.

The track has recently been given its first UK play courtesy of Chris Evans via his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. Whilst discussing the latest single Steve said ‘Can U Cook?’ “…was made on a one-string washboard guitar that I hooked a banjo neck onto, an’ I hope you like it”.

‘Can U Cook’, featuring a track list of 13 songs, was produced and written by Steve himself and mostly recorded in a converted ice house in Key West, Florida with his drummer Dan Magnusson and guitarist Luther Dickinson.

Alongside the announcement of the album, it seems Steve still loves performing his tracks live as he announces some UK dates for the first time since 2015, you can check them out below.
