LISTEN UP: Villagers share ‘Again’ and new 2019 UK tour dates

A double whammy of sweet treats from Villagers.  Not only has three sure-to-be-enigmatic new shows been announced, but their new track ‘Again’ has also debuted online.

Dublin’s premier band, Villagers, have dropped the final jewel in the run-up to The Art Of Pretending To Swim’s release – the gorgeous and glistening ‘Again’.

A landscape of controlled, saccharine power ‘Again’ is a folk-electronica hybrid bubbling with ethereal lyrics and a menacing undertone.  It is understated.  It is glorious.  It is the final piece in the puzzle to whet our appetite and have us begging for September 21.  The release of an album has not been so anticipated by us for an age.

While an immediate and extensive collection of tour dates have already been planned (and sold-out) for the rest of the year, Villagers are setting their sights firmly on 2019.  The group have announced three special shows in London, Manchester and Newcastle for February.

On the final day of February, Villagers will seize hearts in London’s The Roundhouse before journeying north to Manchester’s Cathedral (March 1) and even further up the country, to Newcastle Upon-Tyne’s Wylam Brewery (2).  Tickets for these three shows will be available to purchase via general sale on September 14.

The Art Of Pretending To Swim, the forthcoming LP from Villagers, is out on September 21 via Domino.
