LISTEN: Wedding – ‘Rocket Ship’

Following their 2015-released debut EP, Wedding have returned with a bang, bringing LP Mania Whatever to our ears. One of the highlights from the record is ‘Rocket Ship’, a track first premiered by Dork last month.

Combining swooning vocals with an ethereal atmosphere, created through the piano lead, ‘Rocket Ship’ is a poignant step in a successful direction for the Manchester-based band.  The track is a controlled honey pot of escapism and captures a raw craving for safety – highlighting the idea that there will always be a metaphorical vessel to whisk you away from gloom and doom.

Speaking about the track, songwriter Thomas Craig said: “This is a song about my special ship, written at the lowest ebb of an adventure in Germany riddled with guilt and unemployment”.

If you’re thinking about sinking your teeth into Wedding’s shimmering Mania Whatever, give ‘Rocket Ship’ a spin first – and let your ears become a slave to Wedding.

‘Rocket Ship’ is out now. And you can catch Wedding live later this month:

22 April – Common, Manchester (Piccadilly Records’ RSD Party w/ Ménage a Trois & Former Bullies)
29 April – Fuel, Manchester (w/ Aldous RH & Duds)
