LIVE (PHOTOS): The Zombies – Maida Vale Studios, London 18.11.16

An extensive global tour, performances over two consecutive years at Glastonbury, appearances on Jools Holland and 6 Music firmly placed The Zombies on everyone’s Spotify playlists last year; with young and old, newcomers and fans alike celebrating a musical British institution.

The band are celebrating 50 years of rock and roll success, and this included a trip down to the iconic Maida Vale studios in aid of Children In Need on November 18th. The band performed a live set as part of ‘An Evening With BBC Radio London’. Shakin’ Stevens, Jack Savoretti, Shaun Escoffery, Nick Heyward and Sophie Ellis Bextor also performed on the show.

Much loved songs ‘She’s Not There’ and ‘I Want You Back Again’ formed part of the set-list, as well as more recent effort ‘Moving On’. Although The Zombies’ line-up has changed since their formation in 1962, Rod Argent (piano, organ and vocals) and Colin Blunstone (vocals) are still as passionate as ever when performing live, and Gigslutz photographer Aaron Parsons was on hand to capture that enthusiasm on the night.

Take a look at his photos below, and help The Zombies iconic status soar even further by voting for them to be inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There’s still two weeks left to vote, so get clicking now.
