ALBUM REVIEW: Mallory Knox ‘Asymmetry’

Rating:

Mallory Knox are a band who have continually impressed with their take on rock music and this latest album follows this impression perfectly. Taking an impartial view towards the band, their latest album offers listeners a large degree of refined tracks that were largely absent on their less than renowned previous album Signals.

The Cambridge based group, named after Juliette Lewis’s homicidal turning in Natural Born Killers, offer a great alternative styling to their listeners and veer away from the obvious associations with current rock and metal music. Tracks such as ‘She Took Him to the Lake Point’, contain an understated originality that the band continue to explore with the more music they create. This is a positive and is taking the band in the right direction towards music greatness, understandably so as originality, to me, is the key to making an impact in the world of music; who wants to listen to the same thing over and over?

This latest album offers more than enough moments to allow the listener to experience sincerity and that the band can assure their ever increasing fan base that they can always deliver to them. The future is seemingly bright for Mallory Knox and I, for one, heartily approve of this.
