Maxsta & Brotherhood team up on new EP and share new visuals

At just 22, East London lyricist Maxsta is already a well known figure within the grime scene. With two UK charting singles, radio play from the likes of Radio 1 and 1Xtra, millions of hits on YouTube and an impressive list of collaborations, Maxsta is clearly a talented individual and the ‘East London Is Back’ mc has once again joined forces with Ipswich duo Brotherhood to release a joint 7 track EP entitled A12 Link Up.

Brotherhood aka brothers Menace, 21 and Blaze, 28, have also had their own share of success with both their mixtapes reaching the Hip Hop Top 10 chart on iTunes, whilst they have also performed to thousands of people at Wireless Festival. The title of the joint EP cleverly refers to the dual carriageway that directly connects Ipswich to the east end of London and although both areas are very different, the EP demonstrates exactly why music is a language to itself, presenting a cohesive and well-rounded sound.

The guys have also dropped a visual for a track taken from the EP called ‘Things Change’. The video narrates the story of a man revisiting his past in an attempt to discourage his younger self from making a drastic decision in order to change his present situation for the better, subliminally highlighting how one small decision can result in a big change. With it’s overtly positive message, the video for ‘Things Change’ is a really interesting watch and is a great accompaniment to the audio counterpart.

Created by producer of the moment Zdot, who has worked with the likes of Wiley, Lady Leshurr and Stormzy, ‘Things Change’ is the second single taken from A12 Link Up, following the release of previous hit single ‘Own Advice’ earlier this year. The collaborative project also sees further production from an an all star line up including the likes of Dot Rotten, Rapid, Lumez, Juxta, Lewis Cullen, Krunchie and more.

With hard hitting grimey beats and three mc’s whose expertise and flow on the mic are intensely powerful, enabling them to get a strong message across in their tracks, A12 Link Up is not a release you want to miss.
