Middleman release new single ‘Helpless’ on 16th September LISTEN NOW

It’s been an interesting journey for Middleman. From guerilla gigs in local bars, to support slots with the likes of Ghostpoet and The Streets, the band have toured relentlessly, appearing at South By South West, Reading & Leeds, Latitude, Secret Garden Party and Kendal Calling, as well as a whole host of European festivals. The hard work’s starting to pay off, and the band have received airplay on Radio 1, XFM and 6 Music, as well as recording a live session at London’s famous Maida Vale Studios for Radio 1.

The crowds at Middleman shows are notorious for stage invasions, crowd surfing, relentless dancing and mosh pits, think somewhere between a club night and a punk gig. But there’s more to them than just bone-rattling bass and shout-along choruses. With layered lyrics and catchy choruses these are songs you can dance or cry to. Or cry/dance if you like. Cryancing, they call it. It’s a thing.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing of course. The guys recently had armed police crash through their door after the old-lady across the road drastically misunderstood a photo shoot she witnessed, where the guys posed with toy guns and ‘robbed’ the old post office van they use for touring. Given SO19’s trigger-happy reputation, Middleman are happy to be alive. Every day is a gift, that kind of thing.

The band will launch their new single ‘Helpless’ at The Monarch, Camden, Tuesday 27th August 2013 as well as playing several other festivals across the UK and Europe.
