Midlake announce February 2014 UK tour

Texan psych-rockers Midlake have announced they are to tour the UK in February 2014. The tour will be on the back of their 4th studio album Antiphon, released in early November, opening in Manchester, and ending at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. The band also sold out Islington Assembly Hall within 24 hours of the tickets going on sale.

The news comes after Midlake’s original singer and songwrite Tim Smith decided to leave the band in November last year to form his new project Harp. Despite having 2 years worth of material recorded with Smith, the band discarded all of it and decided to go on to produce new material without him. Eric Pulido, (vocals and guitar) said: “Antiphon is the most honest representation of the band as a whole, as opposed to one person’s vision that we were trying to facilitate.”

The title track, Antiphon, is up on Soundcloud to stream or available on their website to download for free.
