NEW MUSIC: Northside return with their first material in 35 years!

Northside are firmly back in the game. Yes, those exemplary Manchester scamps who released some of the most epochal and time defying indie anthems of the early 90’s including Shall We Take A Trip and My Rising Star released on Tony Wilsons Factory Records have announced their first material in over 35 years, new single Hey! Mr Brown b/w semi instrumental track To Ponder On Sonder released on 7” single plus available on all digital platforms coming out in late October.

Hey! Mr Brown is a composition of the highest order, think peak Happy Mondays groove, with some quintessential lush sounding Take 5 guitars and Dermo’s mesmeric vocals in his classic Lennon style chiming out some delicious lyrics. Hey! Mr Brown is firmly in keeping but a step up from their well known material, consumers will not be disappointed. The B side To Ponder On Sonder is an altogether different beast, sounding like a mixture of Slowdive guitar waves, with My Bloody Valentine Loveless structure, this might hint at what the second Northside album would’ve sounded like back in the mid 90’s, but luckily for those that have stuck around for 35 odd years to hear these 2 opening tracks to a new decade of Northside tunes.

With an album potentially in the offering, the news of new Northside tunes is very welcome in the current climate of also rans and jekyll faces, Northside are seemingly all set up to roar into pole position. Sweet n that!
