The Deep Blue Announces New Single “Water water” from Upcoming ‘Honeylove EP’
The Deep Blue, fresh off their debut at Glastonbury and recent winners of the Christian Raphael Prize at the Cambridge Folk Festival, are thrilled to announce the release of their new single “Water water”.
Produced by the acclaimed Matt Ingram, known for his work with The Staves, Lianne La Havas, and Florence and The Machine, “Water water” paints a visceral picture of a land without water. Hot and dry and dusty. Ask yourself, have you ever been truly thirsty? How would it change you? For an increasing number of people, water scarcity is a reality. Approximately 10% of the global population – around 720 million people – lived in countries with high and critical water stress levels in 2021 [UN Water]. As our summers become hotter and our world becomes drier, will we find ourselves dreaming of crystalline rivers and shimmering lakes when we’re surrounded by rocks and sand?
During our live shows people dance to this song and we embrace it, but it’s also a question; what will we sing when all we need is water?
