New Track: PROM – ‘TOUCH ME’

PROM are a four piece Industrial Surf band from London, but forget about all your preconceptions of ‘Surf’ music… This is a delicious racket that bands such as the Dead Kennedys would be proud of.

The track ‘Touch Me’ kicks off with a filthy mood-filled garage punk bass line, which punches out, ready for the shattering treble-controlled guitar riffs produced by guitarists Pip Stakem and Angela Won-Yin Mak. These guitar lines would slide fluidly onto Public Image Ltd.’s LP Metal Box!

Mak’s vocals are pure destructive beauty; with sullen, subtly sung verse lines that break into pure violence in the chorus, her contorted vocals are a dream.

With all these elements combined, the drums truly create the chaos needed for a track like this. Hung back on the ride to mellow things out, allowing the smashing chorus sections to blow out in style.

This really is a band worth checking out, twisted disorder at its best.

Pre-order the double A side single ‘Touch Me/ I’ll Teach You’ released on the 16 October. And buy the vinyl 7” from here.
