NEW TRACK: The Scarletts – ‘In The Mirror’

Southend-on-Sea’s The Scarletts‘ released their debut single ‘In The Mirror’ last month via their own label Strange Day Records, and it’s a memorable, genre-binding new tune that’ll be spinning around your head for just shy of five minutes. The band’s velvety vocals and mix of moody and melodic guitars are influenced by the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen and The Cure, so if you’re an indie/psych/goth kid at heart; chances are you’re going to approve.

Drawing on the darker side of new wave and laced with psychedelia, The Scarletts hail from the same location as fellow Southend rockers Asylums and their Cool Thing Records gang, who have all been inspired by the history of the local music scene, which includes Dr. Feelgood, The Horrors, and These New Puritans. If this is their first release, we’re looking forward to seeing what else the band are made of. L
