New Track: Thurst – ‘Cinema’

Forming from the remains of previous band Violet Class, Berkshire’s newest noise makers Thurst are taking their music in a new direction with the release of their debut single, ‘Cinema’.

Although still retaining a raw and authentic sound, the band is calling upon new influences to create something that’s truly worth hearing. Previously, the foursome echoed a tone that was very heavily guitar driven; however, ‘Cinema’ hears a more folky twang thrown into the mix. It’s somehow bold, audacious and raucous whilst heralding a lighter, more energetic feeling at the same time.

Having supported Happy Mondays at the wonderful Shiiine On Weekender last summer, Thurst are certainly getting their voice heard and it’s understandable. With riffs of epic proportion, contagious melodies and an all-encompassing vocal display from lead singer Jack Barnes, they demand to be heard and are definitely going the right way about it.

Being the band’s debut release, ‘Cinema’ has certainly left an air of anticipation surrounding what Thurst have to offer us next.
