NEWS: Rainn Byrns releases latest single, ‘Big’

Bedroom pop artist Rainn Byrns has revealed his latest single, ‘Big’, a slice of breezy lo-fi pop which tackles feelings of frustration and disillusionment.

A clear country influence shines through in the tracks intro whilst still maintaining a slight psychedelic indie feel. The opening lines of the song sum up its dark, frustrated world perfectly, with the listener being greeted by, “Charlie’s made it big on the TV set, snd I’m still cleaning toilets trying not to regret.”

As the track continues its jaunty, upbeat melody doesn’t wither or crack upon the singles lyrical weight. The two contrast each other perfectly, with the melody dancing around your ears, unaware of the lyrical sucker-punch heading your direction.

This is not state that the song is intended to a bleak tale, far from it, Byrns’ wants the overall message to be an uplifting one stating: “For me the song’s a reality check about how the process of bashing your head against a wall over success, can take you away from being in the moment & enjoying the journey you’re on.

“The lyric ‘you will never know when you are having the time of your life’ highlights this & ‘I wish I could take my own advice’ is the classic case of being able to give advice that you cannot take yourself.”
