ONES TO WATCH: New Street Adventure

Signed to Acid City Jazz, this soulful five piece perfectly encapsulate the new wave movement anchored in their soul routes. Their debut album No Hard Feeling was met with a massively positive reaction from critics and it seems the best is yet to come.

London band New Street Adventure formed back in 2007 and are set to hit the ground running in 2015 with massive new single, ‘The Big AC’, which sounds not too dissimilar to Jamie T’s new material. Accompanied by a video featuring established Northern Soul dancer, Levanna McLean, ‘The Big AC’ is an uplifting anthem – a perfect slice of soulful indie that’ll get you up and moving, just like Levanna.

New Street Adventure pride them self as an example of the evolution of Northern Soul. Being heralded by various respected names within the industry such as Clash, Artrocker and Fred Perry Subculture. With a great album and a huge single on the way, New Street Adventure are most certainly one of the ones to watch in 2015.

‘The Big AC’  is going to be available on both 7” vinyl and digital download on March 9th, and it’s clear to me that this new single is set to break the alternative market and get tickets selling for upcoming gigs fast.

In December the band performed a session with Craig Charles’  funk and soul show on 6Music (available to watch here) and, if you want to catch them live for yourself, they have three upcoming dates this March:

12th March –   London, Jazz Cafe

13th March –   Brighton, The Haunt

26th March –  Birmingham, Hare and Hounds
