Ones To Watch: Octavians

‘Sometimes I Think, Sometimes I Don’t’  is the latest single by Octavians, a band with a very unpredictable, current sound. They are a Cardiff-based alternative rock band and the four lads are just 17 and 18 years old.

Their new song not only begins with a head-banging riff, it has lyrics full of meaning throughout the song. ‘Sometimes I Think, Sometimes I Don’t’, as with all material on their new EP, deals with the loss of a family member, but also immensely celebrates life. Their lyrics are relatable and their composition could be what’s missing from the music industry, as Octavians channel The Killers, Foo Fighters, and in this particular song, Paramore. Don’t let those comparisons lead you to assumptions though, this band has something that those bands don’t: Octavians have their own style, an effortless, adept sound that will be difficult for anyone to mimic.

Accompanying the track  is a simple, yet effective, video through which  you can really get a feel for the band members’ personalities. Their creativity is admirable and the video compliments the song very perfectly.

I can safely say, it’s only a matter of time before Octavians are selling out venues with a huge loyal following!

Octavians’ second EP, Artless, is set for release today. I highly recommend checking it out.
