Ones To Watch: Turrentine Jones

Turrentine Jones were formed in Manchester in 2010 –  they consist of an Australian, an Welshman and a Finn. They play a blues/rock style of music which is clearly impressive, as it earned them a slot at  Glastonbury last year. Their debut album, Our Days, is out now.

Latest track ‘Moonlight Is On Yer Side’ has everything needed to be a memorable hit; a groovy bassline, prominent drums and witty lyrics which are supplemented by a powerful voice. It just makes you want to dance. Frontman Julian Neville sings “If you let yourself be someone else you will lose what yer have” throughout the song, which is easy to remember and even easier to sing along with. With seven shows around the country starting next week, it is clear just how far the lads have come since forming only a few years ago. They are a must catch if they are coming to your area.  On the evidence of this song, and their others, they’re definitely worth the trip.

‘Moonlight Is On Yer Side’ is out now.
