Peace LIVE @ The Assembly, Leamington Spa 09.06.14

Through the dainty streets of Leamington Spa, Harrison Koisserr, Samuel Koisser, Douglus Castle and Dominic Boyce made a phenomenal appearance at the Assembly Hall.  Chants of “Peace Peace Peace” filled the room as the vibrant Brummy boys appeared. Starting with their hit tune, ‘Follow Baby’, the room went wild.

2014Peace_LivePhilSmithies3_020514Peace can’t help but to be as eccentric and as quirky as ever. Cool: Simply and utterly cool. The kind of band that takes a person away from their boring life and transports to them to a summer in the 70’s, full of life and fun; something many new bands cannot do. Songs such as ‘Waste Of Paint’ and ‘Toxic’ did this as the room went crazy.

Of course, the boys had to slow it down and bring out their beautiful sounds of ‘California Daze’ and ‘Float Forever’, which particularly stood out as the room was taken over by an aura of magic. As the room filled with the glistening lights of disco balls, Harrison Koisser made almost every person in the room fall in love with him just a little bit.

However, Peace pulled a few new songs out of the bag with new favourites such as ‘Money’ and ‘World Pleasure’ exciting the crowd with riffs that resemble all things 90’s related, as a glimmer of The Stone Roses shone through during ‘World Pleasure’. The new songs have taken a new turn as Peace have now adopted a ‘groovy’ sound, as Harrison’s hips were almost blinding as he fed the crowd the new material. The boys also sprung on the pleasant surprise of their newest track, ‘Lost On Me’, which is a typical Peace track, full of flowery sounds and the occasional ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ combined with a pretty little riff. Lovely.

Again, Peace didn’t fail to entertain us.
