Taken from his second solo album, Never A Dull Moment, AJ Ellis is sharing his new single ‘Breakthrough.’
It’s been a long time since Ellis’ days in Five O’Clock Heroes, and four years since his debut solo offering, but ‘Breakthrough’ is a sign that his songwriting skills have never been sharper. Taken from an album recorded “as live as [they] could get it,” with The Candles (who also work as Norah Jones’ backing band) ‘Breakthrough’ manages to be spontaneous, while hugely catchy. The perfect precedent for the album.
