Premiere: The Bulletproof Bomb – ‘Vapid’

After a string of undeniably successful releases, and a ton of sold out shows, South Londoners, The Bulletproof Bomb are gracing our ears with their EP Little Miss London.

After the cheeky narrative of the title track, ‘Vapid’ takes the band to new, much more mature heights. With its more intricate emotional approach, swooning vocals and wonderfully delicate riffs, ‘Vapid’, vocalist Joel Douglas explains, explores “the conflict between internal desires for peacefulness and external desires to fit in.” A coincidence, perhaps, since ‘Vapid’ itself seems to be relatively more peaceful than the other tracks – yet it most certainly fits in.

Recorded by Rory Attwell (The Palma Violet, Yuck, The Big Moon), Little Miss London tells tales of teenage angst, nights out and being young – the band are just 20 after all – whilst maintaining a comparatively mature sound. It’s brutally honest; and with tracks like ‘Life Is So Fucking Boring’, this EP is, well, anything but.
