PREMIERE: FooR reimagine classic UK Garage track ‘Gabrielle’

If you’re not yet familiar with the sounds of FooR, you better listen up. FooR are a group of producers, musicians and DJs from the south coast of England who, over the past decade, have produced tracks and remixes under different aliases covering almost all genres of electronic music. In early 2014 they decided to combine their talents and diverse tastes to create a selection of tracks blurring the lines of genres to create their own unique style. Ever since then they’ve been tearing up dance floors with their re-works of classic tracks and their unique ‘danceFooR’ remixes.

This time around though, they were thinking about which song they should remix and some true magic was created, but in a much different way than they’d planned. We’re delighted to be able to premiere ‘Gabrielle’, the classic UK Garage song which was their track of choice and at the beginning of this video, the group explain, “Whilst in the studio discussing what songs to remix, this record was suggested. They felt the record was best recreated with live musicians rather than be remixed“.

Aaron Soul is the man behind the superb vocals on this one and his voice, combined with the double bass, keys and nostalgic trumpet riff, creates an absolutely spellbinding version. Whether you raved to this in UK Garage’s hey day or you’re new to the tune, it’s impossible not to be impressed by this passionate and soulful performance. We’d love to see more of this from these guys, so keep your fingers crossed for some more FooR Unplugged footage.

As well as this track, the group are also going head to head against James Hype on their track ’Wait FooR Me’ and they’re asking for fans to choose their favourite version of the track via their social media channels with the hashtags #teamFooR #teamHype – you can check out both versions of the track below.

Make sure you’re following FooR on Twitter to keep up to date with all the latest news and info direct from the group themselves.
