Premiere: Johnny Gates shares new track ‘Cliché’

In the run up to his upcoming EP, The Voice star Johnny Gates is sharing his new single ‘Cliché’.

Speaking of the motivation behind the track, Johnny says: “’Cliché’ is a song I wrote at around 2 am, in my apartment, immediately after a weekend of hanging with an ex. The song was written in about an hour, and I recorded the vocal that night (sorry neighbours). It’s my favourite song to play live, and as a singer/songwriter, I really feel like it represents the true life, not always sunny, storytelling vibe I’m trying to represent as an artist.”

Indeed, the result is something incredibly raw – a vulnerable, emotional offering, powered by Johnny’s unparalleled vocals.

Having opened for Rod Steward, and become a fixture at Hollywood’s prestigious Hotel Cafe, it’s clear the world is starting to fall for Johnny Gates, and in ‘Cliché’ it’s no mystery as to why.
