PREMIERE: Straight On Till Morning – ‘Happy You’re Gone’

GonAlt-Rock four piece Straight On Till Morning are bursting onto the scene with their debut single, ‘Happy You’re Home’.

Citing influences ranging from Radiohead and Muse, to Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and Kings Of Leon, and with a name referencing Peter Pan and the journey to Neverland, Straight On Till Morning were set to be eclectic; ‘Happy You’re Home’ doesn’t disappoint.

Introducing David Blomiley’s falsetto vocals (from his childhood operatic training) and the fuzzy funk of the rest of the band (Sam Westcott, Olly Brown and Toryn Westcott), ‘Happy You’re Gone’ is a dual layered song. Though it seems like a breakup song (and is), it’s actually exploring the relationship with depression and sadness: “The countless efforts in hiding how you feel from those people around you and eventually refusing to feel that way any longer. You can end up in a place where you feel lost and directionless in life.”
